Hire our PA

Ideally suited to functions and events where a band needs a full PA set up quickly and in a small space

Payback have a high quality PA system that is available for hire, either as a whole or in part on any occasion that the band aren't using it themselves.

We also use a number of third-party PA suppliers and will happily use a supplier of your choice; but please call us to discuss this, prior to booking the band, if this is your preferred option.

Front Of House Spec

The front of house speakers have recently been upgraded to Turbosound QLight TQ308DP hi/mids, , coupled with Turbosound TQ115DP 15" bass cabinets. These speakers are each powered by built in Class-H 800W amplifiers with onboard DSP filtering.

Monitoring Spec

The monitoring speaker system is made up of 4 x Turbosound TXD-12M wedges .

We use a QSC PLX 3002 to drive the monitors, with two monitor mixes. Additional mixes are available to in ear monitoring systems when required.

Mixing and Mic Spec

The mixing and processing is taken care of by a Yamaha 01V (expanded to 24 inputs) which is extremely flexible, with a dynamics processor on every channel. Feedback is kept to a minimum as the main "scream" and stage-boom frequencies are notched out - additionally Behringer Feedback destroyers are used on foldback channels and individual channels as required.

Microphones are predominantly the ubiquitous Shure SM58s but with some Beyer Dynamics,Audix OM series and AKGs. We also carry a couple of UHF radio microphones (handheld and lapel: clip-on) that can be used for speeches.

Engineer supplied

If you hire our system, we'll supply an experienced engineer who knows the system back to front and indeed is a musician who regularly uses the system. Setup and derig is extremely fast. We won't supply the rig as "dry hire" - the engineer is included in the quote.

This system ideally suited for use by a medium-large function band (5 to 12 players), jazz band or folk band in venues such as marquees or function rooms of hotels and stately homes where it may not be appropraite for a full PA rig with multicore cables trailed everywhere. Payback often find we have to setup for events after the meal and speeches have happened, as the space for the band has to be cleared away. This system is designed to be wheeled into place and setup in under 30 mins. Ground floor step-free access is preferred and will give you the cheapest quote!

Cost

Pricewise, it'll depend on how easy it is to access the event location. The distance we'll have to travel from South London will have a bearing on the quote.

We'll do our best to beat any quote from other PA operators, and give a service with a smile!
